Several of you inquired about these after I posted my December Meal Plan. I’m happy to oblige! (Also, thank you for your kindness on the Christmas House Tour! Y’all are so sweet to me.)
I’m pretty original with recipe names, as you can plainly see. I’ve got the Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies, the Best Ever Beef Stew and the Best Ever Quiche Lorraine. I’m super creative like that.
But these are on my short list of favorite homemade things. They second only to my Grannie’s Fudge recipe, which I highly recommend you make as soon as humanly possible. I make these brownies. throughout the year, but put a raspberry on top and they make almost any holiday festive, and they’re so fast to make that you won’t stress over it. And you could put anything on top—a peppermint, a peppermint hershey’s kiss, a small candy cane. The possibilities are endless.
They’re moist and super simple and delicious. You’ll never buy brownies again. (Or maybe you will, but you’ll think of these first!)
What you’ll need:
For the brownies
- 1 stick butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 can Hershey’s syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup plus 1 T. flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, I didn’t put them in mine)
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
For the frosting
- 6 T. butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1. tsp. vanilla
What you’ll do:
- Mix ingredients together for brownies and place in greased 9 by 13 pan.
- Bake for about 30 minutes on 350.
- As the brownies bake, start the frosting. Melt butter, sugar, and milk and boil for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat then add chocolate chips and vanilla.
- Stir until slightly thickens and spread over brownies.
