Two years ago at Christmas, fire ravaged our home and we lost everything.
Except that we didn’t.
Because everything that really matters can’t be taken away by fire or death or the darkest earthly hell imaginable.
Even death is swallowed up in victory.
And as we celebrate the incarnation of Christ, we know that it is He who conquers our fire and our death and our hell.
He takes it upon Himself on the cross and makes the great exchange.
Our sin for His righteousness. Our death for His life. Our brokenness for His abundance.
We offer up the same, tired ashes and He makes all things new.
This Child-gift from heaven is our Christmas miracle.
He is the great I AM, the bush that burns but will not be consumed.
And He is refining us, remaking us, tearing down this house of cards to give us life, everlasting.
May His love burn bright in us as we rejoice in the Gift that changed everything.
Merry Christmas, dear friends!
All my love,
edie
