Artist, fabric designer, and creative entrepreneur, and mother of 7, Anna Maria Horner, is one of the most inspiring women I know. I’ve followed her work and blog for years and have little touches of her creative life all over my house.
Her fabric is my absolute favorite and I’m hoping that with her help this summer, I’ll be able to finish a colorful quilt I’ve (barely) started. She is doing something extraordinary this summer and I can’t wait to be a part of it. I’m hoping you’ll find a way to join us too!
She has a brand new venture called Craft South, which will eventually be a brick and mortar incarnation of her life’s work. This summer, Craft South will exist as pop-up shops and workshops held in Nashville at a beautiful photography studio and led by Anna Maria and some other wonderful designers. (Think Amy Butler!)
My sister and I will be attending the June 18th quilting workshop and would like to cordially invite you to attend with us. There is very limited space so if it’s something you are interested in, sign up soon! This will be an intimate workshop on quilting and whether you have lots of experience or none, you will be blessed and inspired to spend the day with Anna Maria. (Also, whoever from this blog decides to go will be invited to dinner with us after the workshop, my treat!)
And because I want to show my support for this new adventure and because I LOVE you so much, I am sponsoring a 50% off scholarship for the workshop. To sign up for the workshop, head on over here. To read more about the day, visit Craft South, or better yet, let Anna Maria tell you in her own words.
I would be absolutely thrilled to meet you there and spend the day with you sewing and learning together.
I’m so curious to know about your endeavors with the handcrafts. I love to knit and sew and stitch but don’t make time for them nearly as much as I’d like. What are your favorites? What would you like to learn? Tell us all about it in the comments.
If you’d like to be considered for the scholarship and can make the necessary arrangements to get to Nashville for the day, please send me an email at ediewadsworthatmacdotcom and put Craft South in the subject line. I’ll be in touch soon!
Happy Friday, lovelies!!

I’ve admired Anna’s work for years, and this sounds totally fun, though I’ve not stitched the first quilt. <3

Oh I SOOOOO wish I could attend this! I’ve been sewing bags for years and this year decided to just get over my fear of quilting and take the plunge to teach myself. Funny, I’ve got a few blocks done(since January…I know, whats my rush, right?) but they include various AMH prints. She is my favorite fabric designer too!

Edie! I just learned of Anna when you shared about her recently. What delicious fabrics! I ordered some immediately. (I am not a sewer by any means!) But y’all have inspired me. I looked at Craft South and so wanted to join y’all. No can do this summer 🙁 Hoping she might do a Fall Fling 🙂
I REALLY wanted to attend in August when Natalie Chanin is coming. I looked at her line. WOWZA! I watched a YouTube video for a bag she made called the Right Turn Bag. I love-love-love that bag. I have a girlfriend who is a magnificent seamstress & designer, so I ordered Anna’s fabric to have Christy make one for me.
I am ALL excited for any of you that get to go! WOO HOO! FUN!
Edie, you are a gem for offering a scholarship. You rock.
Thanks for all the goodness you keep sharing with us.
I can’t wait to watch the video!
We are getting our garden planted this weekend!
Have a spectacular one 🙂

Sounds so fun. I love her beautiful work! I can sew a little but my mom makes beautiful quilts that I would love to learn how to create. But I have these three little people to tend to;) I will come another time…thanks for the invite…can’t wait to hear all about it!!! Mandy

This is fabulous, Edie! If I had the funds to do this, I surely would! I am a semi-newbie to quilting and love Anna Maria Horner’s bold, beautiful fabrics. To have the chance to craft with her and you would be amazing!

Ooooo! I love the idea of quilting, real quilting. I have only dipped my toes into the quilting waters by helping a friend, but this sounds like so much fun. Have a great time!

Edie,
I can honestly say I would love to attend but I need to talk to my husband first (he’s out of town right now but he usually calls each night… unless he falls asleep while doing homework… military schools are not always the most exciting.) Our middle son will be leaving for Army basic on the 22nd but had hoped to make it to Nashville as a family before his departure. This might be the perfect timing…. the four of us could head down earlier in the week and then the guys could go explore on their own that day.
I’ll e-mail you as soon as I talk to Chris! Thanks!!

I am a dabbler… watercolors, cooking/preserving, sewing, crafting in general, a bit of crocheting. Oh my I have a 14 year old who is beyond excited about something and wants me to look it up… so I am off on an adventure. The Bermuda triangle is our subject apparently.

I’m curious to find out what blog system you happen to be working with? I’m experiencing some minor security problems with my latest site and I’d like to find something more secure. Do you have any suggestions?
