Right after planting:
Week 2
Week 4
I head out with my coffee to spend my early mornings in the garden: pulling little weeds, listening to the birds, harvesting the herbs. It may well be my favorite time of day. Then again, in the evenings, when the sun has moved around to the back of the house, the garden is so peaceful and serene. It’s growing so fast and we’re already enjoying lots of herbs, arugula and baby lettuce.
Pretty soon, there’ll be jalapeños. It’s nothing short of a miracle. And perhaps my favorite project to date.
I’ve also been crazy busy with testing the girls, dance recital, fun reupholstering projects for the house, window treatments, summer plans, etc. Hope to show you some fun stuff soon. For now, I borrow peace and sanity from my little garden. Hope all is well at your house too!
Visit Lifeingracegirls today for a great story about how Heather became an accidental beekeeper!
Also, several people have asked about my turquoise kitchen so I added a link to the sidebar!

Isn’t it so gratifying? I’m seeing my plants grow each week and my blueberries and strawberries are almost ready to eat – so exciting! Your garden looks so much neater than mine, though ;D

I’m down the road in the Smoky Mountains and want to drive up and raid your garden! Looks beautiful. I mean, veggies have to be happy with that view.
edie wadsworth says
Oh so cool, Kristen! And you can raid my garden anytime 🙂 I do think the veggies and herbs are happy, how could they not be?!

Beautiful garden Edie! So clean and organized. Mine’s a mess : )
Sarah says
You really did a great job making it ornamental and functional. Don’t you find weeding strangely wonderful? I tend to do lots of praying while I weed, weeding more than just the soil…

It’s that time of year with everything winding down yet being so busy at it. I, too, will be making new window treatments and reupholstering a few things this month. So excited to be doing something creative~
I think I should have planted a kitchen garden to keep my sanity!
Ruth says
Your garden is gorgeous. It is growing so well. I can’t wait to do some planting here. I am a bit behind. It seems like a wonderfully peaceful spot to regroup.

Yaaay!! Wowsa, it’s really fluffing up!! Beautiful. And a whole bunch of little miracles, indeed. Morning coffee in the garden has always been a favorite ritual for me, too. Lovely. I hum that old Elvis hymn, “He walks with me and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own…” Cheers on all of your fun projects, too. : )

Looks great! I could use a peaceful place, wish I had gotten a garden planted, but you inspire me for next year!

“Edie’s Eden” is more evidence of your many talents. After seeing that, I’m green with envy and am obviously doing something wrong. Maybe I should muck out a barn too. I look forward to seeing your harvests.
