While at Blissdom this weekend, I met some great new friends and I’ll tell you about them soon. They discovered that it was very hard to find and read about our fire story on my blog so this is a compilation of posts that I wrote in the days and months after the fire to make it easier to share the story with those who may be going through a similar devastating loss. We hope you find some encouragement and hope in our story. I’ll add a link in my sidebar so that it’s easy to access. And just so you know, I’m so exhausted from Blissdom that I can barely function. I’m too old to line dance and then get 3 hours of sleep. Way too old.

Seriously?! Cute story-I followed your blog way back when then I had a baby who had health issues and I missed out on a lot of my favorite blogs. Paige Knudsen and I were talking and I was telling her how excited I was for The Pearl event. I told her how presh I thought you were and she says that you are from my neck of the woods and I’m like, “No she isn’t”, she’s from some place way cooler. That night I am on your blog until 2am trying to figure out exactly where you are from. I can tell you are close but I couldn’t find where exactly. The next day your post is about BEAN STATION! Finally after all that work the night before, you spell it out for me! THEN- I was trying to find the post about the turquoise chair and couldn’t find it and today you put it right there in front of me! Love it!
Can’t wait until The Pearl Event! I’m gonna have chill bumps the whole time!

This is my first time visiting your blog and I am sitting here in tears. I can relate to your house fire posts. I lived in Long Beach, NY last year during Hurricane Sandy. While my husband and I were lucky enough to be renting an apartment on the second floor of a house and didn’t lose any of our “stuff”, so many people in the town, including my sister lost everything. It was heartbreaking to walk around the neighborhood and see people’s lives out by the curb and the looks on people’s faces as they dug through their possessions in hopes of salvaging anything they could. My husband and I just bought our first home last month and I can’t imagine how hard it would be to lose it all. Thank you for sharing your story.
