(My friend, Melanie’s, new book, which is SO awesome and funny and makes me love her even more. Preorder here!)
Also, I’m so excited to tell you my friend, Amy Greene, author of NYT best seller, Bloodroot, and one of my very favorite writers, is releasing her 2nd novel in late February. The novel, Long Man, is sure to become one of your favorites this year. She’s kindly agreed to meet for lunch and chat, so if you have any questions you want me to ask her, let me know! I can’t wait to see her again and talk books and life and Long Man!! Here’s one of many starred reviews of her this highly anticipated novel:
“Unforgettable. Like a classical myth, Greene’s second novel, set in the summer of 1936, transforms a period of cataclysmic history into a gorgeous, tragic tale filled with heroes and heroines . . . Greene’s enormous talent animates the voices and landscape of East Tennessee so vividly, and creates such exquisite tension, that the reader is left devastated.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Your back porch always looks SO inviting! I would love to be curled up on your sofa there this weekend 🙂 Thanks for sharing the books you are reading.
The picture of the horizon is absolutely gorgeous! And I liked the mail picture too. I love sending and receiving anything in the mail 🙂 So I especially enjoyed the post you wrote on the hand written note in the 31 day series that you & Ruth did. Hope you all have a rest-filled weekend. Thank you for adding to mine.

So glad to see the Elizabeth Elliot book ( Keep a Quiet Heart) on your list. She has led a remarkable life. I’ve kept up with her and her family since the 50s, and even did a paper on her work with the Auca Indians in S.A. while getting my masters in education. Amazing that hers was the first book I clicked on in your list, not knowing she was the author. I heard her speak once too.
