I’m having company…..which is like my superbowl…..the world cup….the indy 500. I’m a maniac and as soon as I heard the news, more ideas popped into my head than you could shake a stick at. I become someone my children don’t recognize. I move around the house fast and talk to myself and take lamps off their dressers and bedspreads off their beds and spray paint and hot glue and begin the ‘REDECORRRANGING’. That’s where I ‘shop’ the house and the basement and ‘shake’ the snowglobe, if you will. They start to wonder if they can even sleep in the same room anymore. I’m not finished but I’ll give you a sneak peek. Don’t tell Taylor I took his comforter or Caiti that I took her chair and her candle sticks…..or Emme that I took her lamp. It all washes out in the end. But hold on to your ‘stuff’ if you live in my house…..’cause nothing is sacred. And you stand still too long….your liable to get painted.

First of all, I feel like such a stalker because I’m always one of the first to comment. LOL But, I’m a morning person, this is when I read my blogs…and this is generally when you post. 🙂
Secondly…you are KILLING me with your creativity!!! I love your house. We have the same rustic entertainment center (cabinet, whatever it’s called).
I just love your posts! And apparently I need more coffee.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who goes into ‘crazy mode’ when guests are coming. Some people just don’t understand ‘our kind’. My worst nightmare is short notice. Your posts are so dang funny. Have a good one.
This post made me laugh…I laughed out loud when I read “you may get painted too”…that is just great and it’s true here too!!!
Have a great day getting ready!!!
-sandy toes
LOL, I am the exact same way. However I ALSO give the kids damp rags and send them to clean baseboards.
its therapy edie!!! let me know how the silhouettes turn out…I have always wanted to do that with my kids!
We love our silhouettes- had them done at Seaworld- best money mom ever spent! I even made a copy of them and framed them for the inlaws! 😉
Loveeee it. All of it. You’re very creative!
My kids would faint- they are very attached to their stuff. 🙂 My MIL on the other hand is a pro at decorranging- nothing ever looks the same any two visits.
Ok, I’m still laughing at this post! You crack me up! Your house is beautiful and looks so homey! Can I visit? : )
I flip when I’m having company! Everything has to be perfect! It’s a little strange, so I totally understand your “frenzy”!
Have fun!
Yes Keli you can visit as can all of you sweet little blog friends. I’m glad I’m not the only one who goes a little overboard!
BTW – I love your new header…what a great picture!
Had to come back and let you know I have something for you at my blog!
Hi there, came over from Keli’s blog to check you out. She said your blog was awesome and I have to totally agree.
Your house is beautiful and it looks all so inviting.
I’ll definitely be back to check out your blog it looks like fun!!!
That is AWESOME. I LOVE your bed – it’s so pretty but it looks like you could just jump right in and get comfy. I don’t like frump without the comfy. 😉 The skirt was my favorite part -isn’t that funny? But it looked so perfectly swishy, like a dress hem.
I also loved the wall plaque or whatever you named it. Good job.
The food sounds autumnal and yummy and I love that sort of thing – seasonal cookbooks are my favorite ones. In fact, tonight after cooking a “fall feast” with my son, I cleaned up with my girls only to decide spontaneously to make a loaf of “honey oatmeal bread.” Why? My husband asked… and I had to say, “I don’t know… I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess!” But it just sounded so comfort-foodish, perfect for a fall morning’s breakfast.
I restrained myself from also making the pecan pie muffins… I would have until I remembered I have 2 kids with a nut aversion, and I cannot afford to eat them all. 🙂
Oh what great decorating ideas. I love those window treatments and the table cloth is lovely. Your pillows on the bed are just perfect too.

Highly descriptive blog, I liked that a lot.
Will there be a part 2?
Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year
old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her
ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is
completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
